Today’s contributor is Sharni from @MadeBySharni. She is sharing how to create a super quick DIY Herb Garden using soda cans!
Hi all! My name is Sharni and I’m the woman behind the creative Instagram profile @MadeBySharni. Today I am going to share how to make a herb garden from the simplest of objects – soda cans!
Materials used for this DIY Herb Garden:
- Soda cans
- Can opener
- Scissors
- Spray paint (I used spray from Montana Cans)
- Black contact paper (I used matte black)
- A white pen that can write on plastic or a Posca pen if you want to be able to remove/change the text kitchen herbs
How to:
Carefully remove the top part of the soda can using the can opener.
Wash and dry it thoroughly
Spray in the selected colour(s). When spraying you need to be outdoor and preferably in an area with no wind. Use disposable gloves. Spray according to the description on the can. Let dry for at least 24 hours.
Cut out a piece of the contact paper and write the name of your selected kitchen herb with the white pen
Peel off the paper on the back of the decoration plastic and stick it on the soda can
Find the perfect place to display your cool little herb garden. How quick was that?!
These herbs are watered very lightly but if you wish, you could add drainage holes to the bottom of the cans (but you may have to place them inside another container to prevent leakage)
