**An urban style modern lighting collection with Iconic Lights, chosen and approved by me!
I am a procrastinator.
The worst kind.
The text book definition kind.
If you were to whip out a dictionary right now and search the word procrastinator- I’m pretty sure you’d find my name there … written in bold.
Everything can always be done tomorrow (a motto, I have very guiltily begun to live by)
I think thats probably why it has taken me so long to sit down and write this post. That, and the fact that the 6 weeks summer holidays has really wiped me out! I was lost in a flurry of indoor playhouse outings, parks, late morning wake ups and never ending laundry!
It was touch and go for a minute!
But I’m back now.
Ready to share some exciting news with you!
(I’m gonna scream it, I hope you don’t mind)
I HAVE A NEW LIGHTING COLLECTION!! AHHHHH!!
Yup, you heard that right.
My very own lighting collection!
…. With a brand that I absolutely love (and also have been stalking since I started my blog … shh that isn’t common knowledge though !) – Iconic Lights!
(Here I am trying not to look too pleased with myself)
WHO ARE ICONIC LIGHTS?
They are an online company based in Manchester that sell the most stylish lights at very affordable prices (not kidding about the affordable part!).
(Side note: If you’ve just followed that link to their site, be prepared to lose a few hours of your life browsing their gorgeous light ranges – talking from my own experience here).
Actually, you might have even already heard of them – that is, if you live in the U.K. and /are slightly addicted to the world of Instagram interiors.
HOW THE LIGHTING COLLECTION CAME TO BE:
Iconic Lights work with a lot of bloggers/instagrammers on a gifting basis and this year they got in touch asking if I would like to collaborate with them on a new venture – a sort of brand ambassordship that would involve me putting together a collection to sell through them.
Having a physical product that I could put my name to has always been a dream of mine , so of course I said yes!!
Yes.. yes I’m in!!
I’ve never shared this with anyone before, but after winning the AMARA Award for Best DIY blog last year I promised myself that the following year would be a YES year! Even if that sometimes meant going out of my comfort zone – heck yes was going to be my answer for every opportunity that came my way!
It took a few months to work out all the logistics and details but on August 15th we finally launched the lights to the general public.
We went a little old school with the invites – and actually posted them out ( I know – shocking!) . It was certainly worth seeing peoples reactions on Instagram!
THE LAUNCH PARTY FOR MY LIGHTING COLLECTION:
The launch party was held at the Menargerie in Manchester. Although I had never personally visited the restaurant before, I knew of it from the Real Housewives of Cheshire series (anyone else a die hard fan of that reality show?).
The Menagerie was absolutely stunning – see for yourself!
Lots of really instagrammable spaces … including this bath!
I did muster up the courage to climb in at some point during the night – but it was rather an un-graceful clamber out so I wont be sharing that photo!
The night was a success, with so many bloggers and instagrammers present to support the new lighting collection. There were moments when I felt a little tearful because I was just so overwhelmingly happy!
INTRODUCING MY LIGHTING COLLECTION:
Here they are!
My favourite!! Am I allowed to have a favourite amongst favourites?
I love each and every one of these lights. I feel they are a true reflection of my current style and aesthetic – especially on instagram.
Simplistic , monochrome, modern, with a touch of urban industrial glam.
I’ve never been a high end kind of girl, so the retail prices for these lights are perfect and definitely on brand (I hope you think so too!)
