Etsy and I have had quite the loving relationship over the past few years.
I can spend hours browsing their selection of products from sellers worldwide, whilst never really feeling guilty about it because I know my purchases are directly supporting small businesses (who lets face it- need all the help right now given the current climate) .
When I think about how I usually shop on Etsy, I realise that my browsing experience is more often that not focused towards finding one of a kind vintage or crafty pieces for my home. You know how it goes,
The rattan chairs that cost a fortune, but are Marcel Breuer chairs so its OK.
The custom painted street signs that aren’t actually real (they look real), that will have people enquiring why they are on you wall and not on a street corner ?
The quirky handmade plant pot that makes even your close to death plants look like they are thriving!
Although these items aren’t necessary things that I use all the time, they do a really good job of lifting the decor in any room from plain to chic – especially when you rent (like myself).
I’m not really here to talk about my usual shopping habits though, I’m here to talk about a NEW way!
As part of their EVERYDAY Finds campaign, Etsy are encouraging buyers to use their platform as a destination to shop for everyday finds that are functional, unique, joyful and STYLISH! Think to all those practical items like cleaning products, masks, soaps, towels , sponges, sustainable product etc but because it’s Etsy, look far from boring!
Today I’m sharing 4 everyday household essentials that you may not have thought to shop on Etsy for, but totally should! Click on the links to be taken directly to each sellers page – I’m sure they’d appreciate the love!

1. REUSABLE BOWL COVERS
These are ingenious, I have to admit! Great for covering food and popping into your fridge or just leaving out on your worktop. For the past year, I’ve been trying to make more intentional changes with regards to our plastic consumption. So far I have looked into beeswax wraps and silicone bags as a more sustainable choice to plastic wrap/cling film.
These linen re-usable covers come in a set of three (in 3 different sizes) . Pros would definitely be that they are machine washable, come with an elasticated bottom and of course, look pretty! (These would also make an ideal gift!).

2. CERAMIC MUG
Part of my morning routine involves making myself a coffee (usually at my coffee station), and then taking a few quiet moments to drink it on desk or dining table.
I’ve always had that one mug that I use over and over…and this one has fast become ‘that mug’ . It’s handmade on a potters wheel and decorated with a black clay. I love that it matches my style for all things monochrome, is easy to hold, and can hold a lot of coffee! These are the important things you need to look for when shopping for your next ‘it mug’ ha!
3. MACRAME COASTERS!
As much as I love the idea of macrame inspired decor, I’ve never had the patience to actually try this craft myself.
I told myself it was too time consuming as I added this to my Etsy favourite list . Ans I suspect many other people might feel the same way, which is why I’m glad you can just buy them. I think these coasters are a great addition to any tabletop in your home. They keeps coffee rings and water marks off your surfaces whilst looking extra boho fabulous doing it!
4. LINEN TEA TOWELS
I’ll be honest and say I hadn’t thought to look on Etsy for tea towels before – especially for handmade linen ones like these . They are the kind of product that I’ll pick up at the supermarket, more as an after thought. But when you think about it, tea towels are kind of important both in and outside of the kitchen.
For the past few months, we’ve been using tea towels as a way to keep homemade bread as fresh for as long as possible.
And of course, they are great for wiping up spills, or thrown across a breakfast bar for decoration.
And those are my favourite everyday essentials that I’ve found on Etsy! A lot of these items make great thoughtful gifts too – especially the re-usable bowl linen covers. I’ve also rounded up a few more finds on my favourites Etsy page . . . click here to see!
