When you’re decorating your home for fall, don’t forget to add a monogram wreath. It’s a pretty decor element that you can either hang on your front door or on the interior walls of your home.

I’m excited to share this DIY personalized monogram wreath with you today.. It’s a very simple craft to make and easily customisable for any season. As we are welcoming Autumn (fall) I decided to adorn my wreath with pumpkins,leaves, and a few flowers.

MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE A MONOGRAM WREATH

Wire of 2mm thickness
Brown thread
Twigs – of course you can always buy some if you don’t want to rummage around for your own
Small pumpkins – you can also use foam ones like these
Artificial leaves and flowers
Hot glue gun
Pruning shears
Scissors
Pliers

HOW TO MAKE A MONOGRAM WREATH

STEP 1

The first thing you need to do is create your monogram shape with the wire.

The G monogram I made is about 60 x 50 cm. I wanted the structure to be strong enough to hold the twigs weight so I cut 2 pieces of wire of 1m each and, using pliers, wrapped them on them-self.

Then I bent the wire to create the G shape of my monogram. Don’t worry too much if the wire is not perfectly flat or wrapped, because it will be covered with twigs.

STEP 2

Cover the wire with twigs.

As you might have probably guessed, some letters are more easier to make than others. If you want to make a rounded letter like I did, try to find more flexible twigs – ones that were freshly cut will work best.

Also try to picture your monogram shape when choosing your twigs (I found some bent twigs that works perfectly for the G shape) . Place the twigs on the wire and attach them using the brown thread.

Just wrap the thread around the twigs and the wire, and make a double knot to hold everything together.

STEP 3

Attach the branches as you go, distributing them uniformly to create your monogram. Do not hesitate to add several twigs layers to give rigidity to your letter.

STEP 4

I then added fall decor to my monogram wreath: mini pumpkins, leaves and flowers. As the little pumpkins are a little heavy I attached them to the wreath with a thin piece of wire.

I drilled two holes on both sides of the pumpkins and passed the wire through it. Then I wrapped the wire ends around the wreath.

STEP 5:

I just used my glue gun to add the lightweight decorative elements, flowers and leaves, to my monogram wreath. If you work with plastic pumpkins, which are lightweight, you can also glue them directly on the wreath.

And you are done!

Pass a ribbon on the top part of you monogram to hang it on the front door.

Or you can also put a hook on the wall and hang it inside, above a sideboard for example.
